Roberta Hoag
Since I was six, my entire family was involved in the Spruce Creek High School band program. Beth, my sister was in the colorguard and Bryan, my brother was on the drum line. I was just a little squirt. My parents did all the things that band parents do. Beth taught me all she knew about colorguard and when I became a freshman in high school, I was on my way. Along with being a SCHS colorguard member, I was an aspiring dancer, training twice as many hours per week. As high school started for me, my life began to revolve around performing. I was on open guard my freshman year through my senior year ('94-'98). My sophomore year I became flag captian and my junior and senior years, I was overall captain. I had some of the best years of my life while being a member of the SCHS guard. After high school, I went on to earn my bachelors degree in performing arts in dance from Oklahoma City University. I have worked with the SCHS guard nearly a portion of every year since I graduated in 1998. I was the initial movement caption head for Fahrenheit winterguard in 2004 and SCHS movement instructor in 2006 and 2007. As for my dancing career, you may have seen me in Las Vegas's number one tribute show, Legends in Concert, featured in Hollywood, FL as well as many choreography showcases in Oklahoma. My next move is yet to be determined. I always feel at home with SCHS and this year has been no exception! I am thrilled to be apart of this team this year and an so proud of each of the girls!......There are shortcuts in life. Dancing is one of them!
